RE: Tell us your favorite BBQ grill for the RV

We love this one. Hubby converted the standard LPG set up to work with our RVQ connection and added a 20' hose. For easy clean up we just cover the inside with HD foil. It fits in the back of our TV and is secured with a bungee.

RE: Need TT Decals

Your RV dealer should have in stock and be able to apply also.

RE: What's happening with RVQ

We purchased a new Jayco in June of this year. Did not like the concept of the RVQ so we purchased the propane adapter ($4) that the Jayco dealer sells. It allowed us to put together a propane hose that's 20' and to use a free standing gas grill (we chose the Patio Caddie; we have another like it at home and use it 5 times a week-works great!) After removing the regulator from the BBQ, the hose quick-connects into the propane inlet of the Jayco. Being here in California, we grill almost every night we camp...works great. Just me and my DH 2004 Ford F150 4WD FX4 5.4L V8 2008 Ford F350 4WD Lariat V10 (on order) 2007 Jayco 31RKS

RE: Larger than an RVQue

We have the Jayco with the RVQ outlet but did not want to buy the RVQ. We purchased the Patio Caddie which is a nice BBQ that stands at table height. The Jayco dealer sells the male connector to the RVQ outlet. We put that together with a 20' propane hose, cut off the regulator to the Patio Caddie and attached the new hose. Works great and we can move the BBQ to wherever we want.

RE: which walmart ceramic heater?

My husband & I are looking at buying a heater too. The October issue of Consumer Reports has an article that rates space heaters. The article has been helpful for us to sort out the many brands and the "noise" issue of those with fans. Also, indicates safety and specific features of each. Sure helps you shop smarter....

RE: What are your RV plans for Thanksgiving week?

Hubby and I will be at Camp James on the Kern River all week. We'll be flyfishing, watching football and cooking up a great meal on Turkey Day! Can't wait to get on the road! :D

RE: F-250 or F-350?

Well thanks for all the good input although some of it was above me. We ordered the F350 last night after looking at specs and driving both. It was just about $500 more. Now just need to sell the F150 but we've got 12-16 weeks before the new truck arrives. Might have to cancel our Thanksgiving week at Kern River if we have no TV by then....again, thanks for all the opinions!:B

RE: F-250 or F-350?

My 250 King Ranch, CC, SB, SRW with 18" tires will not fit under the 6'6" (78") bar in the parking lot of the West Edmonton mall. (ouch) Did you mean your garage door or the truck was 81". The 350 would be taller than the 250. Our 250 with the v-10 pulls our 28' 5ver very well. Wish you well. The 350 is 81" according to the specs, our garage opening is 82". We test drove both last night and they rode pretty nice. We're looking at 2008's and ordering with only the options we use; so many seem to be overloaded. I'll think I'll go back to the dealer and measure the 350 on the lot. When I measured the 250 (even with 18" tires) it was about an 1" shorter than the Ford specs stated. Thanks again.

RE: F-250 or F-350?

Hadn't thought about the insurance cost; I'll call & check out. My big concern was maybe the F350 being too tall to fit into the garage but at 81" looks like we will be okay. Towing capacities for 250 & 350 are the same but payload is quite different. Thanks for the input.

RE: Mice in under bely

My service rep at the local Jayco dealer told me to use Cayenne Pepper. Just sprinkle a barrier around the trailer and refill any areas when needed. He says they won't cross the line of pepper. I bought the large bag of cayenne at Smart N Final (4$). Worth a try!

F-250 or F-350?

My husband & I bought a new 31' Jayco TT and will now be upgrading our TV. We currently have a 2004 F-150 FX4 4x4 (only 14,000 miles & for sale)and are looking at a F-250 Lariat 4x4. Should we also look at the F-350? It's about $500 more. We're getting the V-10 since we'll only be using the truck for towing and won't be putting much mileage on it. GVWR of Jayco is 9000#. Just want some input to make sure we buy smart.

Listing of CA Public Scales (Not CAT)

I've been wanting to get our new rig weighed but the closest CAT facility was over an hour away. Found this listing on the web...it's for California but I would bet other states have the same type listing under their government websites. Here's the link: http://www.cdfa.ca.gov/dms/programs/wm/publicscales/publicscalelisting.html

RE: memory foam mattress toppers

We purchased a 4" memory topper online for our queen and paid less than those at Costco & Sams. We just have it over our mattress and under the mattress pad cover and fitted sheet. No need to store it separately.

RE: Why no invoice prices?

I went online first to shop dealers and inventory. The Jayco dealer in so Cal has "Internet Pricing" which saved us about $5,000. It was like using the Fleet Manager at a car dealer. We called, I told him the models we were interested in and he gave me the bottom line price. We drove to the dealer and sealed the deal. Definitely the way to buy!
